I am a self taught artist and have been painting as far back as I can remember. Although upon leaving school I did not pursue my interest in art as a career (choosing instead a job in a local textile mill), I never lost my passion for painting. After continuing to paint as a hobby for many years in watercolours, pen and ink, and more recently in pastel and oil, I began to take my artwork more seriously, with most of my original work now selling locally, in exhibitions and on the internet.

I have always had a love of the countryside and wildlife which is reflected in many of my paintings. Currently living in Saddleworth, I have a wealth of resource on my doorstep and many of the paintings in the galleries are of Saddleworth and surrounding areas. I prefer to work from photographs and sketches as I find there are fewer distractions in the studio. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to commission a painting.
